Advocacy
How can research on water in a changing environment make a difference?

The United Nations University (UNU) Hub on Water in a Changing Environment (WICE) is dedicated to ensuring that research benefits society. We believe that impactful research and education must extend beyond academia to influence policy, practice, and public awareness. Our third pillar thus focuses on outreach, advocacy, and creating tangible impacts through strategic communication and engagement.
Advocacy, Outreach and Impact
There are many ways to work towards research impact, from giving interviews to local newspapers, to writing policy briefs or contributing to the latest climate change report from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). UNU-WICE is dedicated to supporting researchers at all stages of their career in communicating their scientific results to different audiences.
UNU-hub Water In a Changing Environment Research Impact Seminar Series
How can you ensure that the research you do benefits society? In this seminar series we will hear different scholars and experts talk about their knowledge and experiences communicating research results for better impact. The seminars are open for all staff and students at Lund University and the UNU-INWEH hubs. The focus of most talks will be around water and environment research, but anyone interested is welcome to register.
All seminars will take place at 12.15 on Zoom, with 15 min presentation, 10 min Q&A, and finally a feedback session where participants can let organizers know what types of talks or activities they would like to see in the future.
